Our surgeon performed 5 incisional biopsies of the tongue-41100. Three were on the right side and two were on the left. I am questioning which modifier to use. The wording for the incisional on the right side states its one continuous lesion that he took 3 separate incisions. Would that me a 51 modifier? Then he moves to the left and I am assuming the first would be a 59 modifier and the second a 51? Or should each one have a 59 modifier?
