I work part-time for a pain management practice. For our injections, the doctor (obviously) does the injection and our CRNP administers the Fentanyl and Versed for the conscious sedation. Does anyone know if I would bill the conscious sedation (99144 and 99145) under the CRNP or does it go in under the doctor? The CRNP just recently started to administer and monitor for the conscious sedation. In the past, there was just a nurse that did it, so it was billed under the doctor.

If the CRNP is the one administering and monitoring conscious sedation then it needs to be billed under the CRNP.
