I work for a company that has started supplying nutritional products, like Ensure, for patients. There are so many different codes that can apply for billing the HCPCS. Can anyone offer me some guidance on which code to bill with? Is there anything notable I should know about billing this?

The HCPCS codes for nutritional products are in the range B4034-B9999, but these are intended for products used for tube feedings or parental nutrition. Is that the case for the products your companies offer?

If that's not the case, I don't think you'll find appropriate codes available and may need to use an unlisted code. HCPCS codes aren't created for products taken as oral nutrition such as Ensure because they aren't considered a medical therapy and are not covered by most payers under medical benefit plans. What codes have you been considering?
