We are having problems getting paid by Medicare for autotransplant of a parathyroid AFTER a parathyroidectomy. Of course we have 60512 as an add on if done at the same time as the surgery, but does anyone know of a code for AFTER the surgery. We have tried an unlisted thyroid code and Medicare is denying stating there is a code we can use. Any thoughts?? Thanks for your help:confused:
 
The physician is not re exploring the parathyroids, they are only doing the auth transplant from parathyroids they previously removed but thanks for your response.
