Hello, for many audiology codes ex 92557 there are instructions to use mod 52 if done unilaterally.
Some doctors I see are using mod 52 on comprehensive code 92557 even when done bilaterally, but missing a component of the comprehensive test such as bone conductivity test (speech elements completed)
Shouldn't this scenario be billed as the component codes only, such as 92552 pure tone threshold air only, and 92556 speech audio w/speech recognition?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
