My provider charges $50 more for a basic diagnostic anoscopy (46600) than for a surgical anoscopy (46615). This makes no sense to me on any level.

Is there a reasonable explanation for this, or is it something I can credibly challenge?

Check the RVUs

Check the RVUs on the two procedures.

Work RVUs alone are 0.55 for 46600 /// 1.5 for 46615

Hope that helps.
