We have been researching the cost of the Amnisure test and the insurance allowables. I am finding that the allowables are less than the cost of the test. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience in billing the Amnisure test and if what I stated above is accurate? Our providers are wanting the test but it looks like we will lose money if we are doing this test in the office. Any feedback at all would be great!!

Coding for Amnisure

The 2014 Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Fee Schedule from CMS lists a National Limit Amount of $87.88 for CPT 84112, which is the code that best describes the AmniSure test. You can find this information at http://www.cms.gov/apps/ama/license.asp?file=/ClinicalLabFeeSched/downloads/14CLAB.zip

Additionally, there is a QIAGEN reimbursement hotline that can assist with these types of questions, which can be reached at 1-877-769-7424. They may be able to help you. You can find this information at http://www.amnisure.com/#pg=resource/billing.

Hope this helps!
