I need opinions about the difference between the bypass code 35522 and repair code 35236. If the doctor resects a long segment of axillary-brachial artery and replaces it with a vein graft, will this be considered an axilla-brachial bypass or an upper extremity vessel repair?

I'd greatly appreciate any opinion..

Thanks,

Can you post the report? It would be much easier to help you with that. If you can't or don't then take a look at the diagnosis for starters. 35236 is going to be done for an injured blood vessel while the bypass is usually geared more towards Atherosclerosis, Subclavian steal syndrome, aneursym, ect.

Sorry I can't give a definite answer.
