We have three coders in our office and we all have different opinion of how to bill these codes together. Two of us believe you code to where you scoped if you do not have a separate identifiable reason for the scope.

The other believes as long as we mention the two different scopes in our dictation as: Laryngoscope was used to expose the larynx. A Hopkins rod telescope was used to evaluate the supraglottis and glottis. Bronchoscopy was then performed by advancing the telescope.
