My gut tells me 10140 but Encoder Pro describes 27301 as" Dissection is carried down through deep subcutaneous tissue and MAY continue into the fascia or muscle. "
Diagnosis is Left Knee hematoma and is one month status post left knee surgery.
Description...A 15 blade was then used to open up the incision. The hematoma was expressed by placing gentle pressure. This did open up the remaining incision. There was a large approximately 30 to 40 ml of black gelatinous hematoma that was expelled. Once this was completely expelled, the site was then irrigated with saline. The subcutaneous tissue was closed.
Any comments are most welcome.
thank you,

Since this is specific to the knee area and they are in the subcutaneous tissue, I would use 27301.
