I do the A/R for an inpatient/outpatient psych hospital. We have been using G0176 to code "Activity therapy, such as music, dance, art or play therapies not for recreation, related to the care and treatment of patient's disabling mental health problems, per session (45 minutes or more)." Recently, payers have stopped accepting this code since 12/31/13, saying "Invalid procedure, please resubmit correct code."
I am unable to find an updated code for Activity Therapy on any of the sites I know of and don't yet have updated coding books. Is there a website or a resource where you can see 2013-2014 code changes? Thanks!
