It has been a few years since I coded Gastroenterology. Is my interpretation of the Code 43274 ERCP with stent correct?

If I do the Stent in multiple ducts it can be billed more than once with a 59 Modifier
If I do the Sphincterotomy in one duct and the stent in another I can bill 43262 with 43274 putting a 59 modifier on 43262?

you can't use 43262 (sphincterotomy) when placing a stent, but you are correct when you have two stents in two different locations use -59 modifier.

If the sphincterotomy is in a different duct than the stent placement, you can bill both codes. But if if the sphincterotomy and the stent placement are in the same duct, they are bundled.
