Wiki Cat Post-op Co-Management through Medicare

We have been filing the co-management for cat post-ops, we get paid on every insurance except Medicare. We file everything exactly the same, but we still don’t get paid. Any advice on how to file them?

It would be helpful if you post the CPT code(s), modifier(s) and ICD-10 code(s) you are billing for the co-management of cataract surgery post-op services.

Also, are you truly co-managing, or is the surgeon transferring the patient to your provider for the remainder of the post-op care global period?

We use the code 66984-55 RT OR LT depending on the eye.
We are co-managing, the surgeon files 6698-54.

Are you including the dates that the pre-op services were provided as well as what dates the post-op services were provided? Per CMS IOM 100-04 Medicare Claims Processing Manual Chapter 12 40.2-Billing Requirements for Global Surgeries B. Date(s) of Service.
