CPT 2008 Drives Multiple Orthopedic CCI Edit Changes

Ex fix dominates deleted edits Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) version 14.0, effective Jan. 1, follows up on CPT's coding revisions that made reporting external fixation (ex fix) separately much easier. Several of this version's deletions remove edits that bundled 20690 and 20692 into surgical codes. Remember: The modifier indicator tells you whether you may break the edit. A "1" indicator means that you may override the edit in certain circumstances. Stay tuned: We-ll cover the edits in more detail next month.
