Get working with those SPADEs. With OASIS-E’s deadline a little over four months away, it’s time to take preparation seriously. You may want to kick your prep into a higher gear with new educational offerings from Medicare. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is offering a series of prerecorded training webinars; live virtual workshop sessions that give participants a chance to practice OASIS coding; and supplementary training materials such as an acronym list and case studies. The live workshops will take place Sept. 13 and Sept. 14.
“A major focus of this training will be on the cross-setting implementation of the standardized patient assessment data elements [SPADEs] being introduced in 2023 to ensure more consistent reporting and evaluation across post-acute care settings,” CMS notes in its announcement of the training.
