You can count on physician efforts to avert the 20 percent cut to their rates in the Final 2014 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, published in the Dec. 10 Federal Register. The cut is better than proposed, but practices will be lobbying Congress to vote to increase the conversion factor before Jan. 1 so they don’t face such severe cuts. As usual, home care providers may be major targets for ‘doc fix’ funding, experts warn.
