Another big chain is showing the strain of the new reimbursement environment. Amedisys Inc. is closing 29 locations (23 home health and six hospice) and consolidating another 25 offices (21 home health and four hospice) with care centers servicing the same markets, the Baton Rouge, La.- based company says in a release.
The for-profit company will take a $7 million to $9 million charge in the first quarter, which includes up to $3 million in lease terminations and $4 million in severance payments.
One of those closures is Portneuf Home Health Care in Idaho, reports ABC Local News 8 in Idaho Falls.
