EEOC Sues HHA For Alleged ADAViolation Against Aide

Medicare fraud and abuse isn’t the only way to get in trouble with the law. The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a lawsuit against Baywood Home Care in Minneapolis for alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, reports the Post-Bulletin in Ro-chester, Minn.

According to the lawsuit, Baywood aide Laurie Goodnough has fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis that limit her walking and bending. An EEOC official says in November 2011, two Baywood employees saw Goodnough walking with a cane and complained. The EEOC says that led to Goodnough’s firing, according to the Post-Bulletin. The EEOC is seeking back pay and compensatory damages.
