Doc Pleads Guilty To Fraud For Home Health Kickbacks

A physician has pled guilty to her role in a Detroit-area home care scheme.
Adelina Herrero agreed to refer Medicare beneficiaries whom she had never seen or treated to Advance Home Health Care Services Inc. and Perfect Home Health Care Services, the Department of Justice says in a release. Herrero signed medical documents, such as home care certifications and plans of care for these beneficiaries, falsely certifying that they were under her care and that they required home health care. In exchange, Herrero received kickbacks from the agencies.
