Home Health Coding Course
The aging baby boom generation is fueling a 75% increase in the number of adults age 65 and older. By 2034, for the first time in U.S. history, seniors will outnumber children. Additionally, upwards of 90% of seniors are choosing to “age in place," in their homes. With this trend, the demand for home health coders is expected to grow by another 36% over the next ten years.
Coding and reimbursement for home health agencies (HHAs) changed dramatically in January 2020 with the implementation of the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) — the case-mix classification system used to place care into payment categories. ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding now factors heavily into the case-mix system that sets HHAs payment level per patient.
The Home Health Coding Course will teach you the ins and outs of PDGM, including clinical episode management, OASIS, and ICD-10-CM coding for home health.
