2023 Final Rule: Top Takeaways You Need to Know
One of the most eagerly anticipated documents in healthcare is the “Medicare and Medicaid Programs; CY 2023 Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Changes to Part B Payment and Coverage Policies; Medicare Shared Savings Program Requirements; Implementing Requirements for Manufacturers of Certain Single-dose Container or Single-use Package Drugs to Provide Refunds with Respect to Discarded Amounts; and COVID-19 Interim Final Rules.” Otherwise known as “The Final Rule” because, let’s face it, that title is a document unto itself.
2023’s Final Rule was issued in early November and contains an abundance of information – approximately 3,000 pages of news, statistics, facts, and figures. That may seem like a lot to digest, especially to those of us already struggling to keep up with our day jobs and the seemingly daily changes across the healthcare continuum.
As you know, The Final Rule is a letter written to us, the leaders of our healthcare facilities, from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Every year, The Final Rule explains in great detail, how they are going to pay us–or not pay us–for claims we submit. It publishes the issues they originally posted to the public (the Proposed Rule), and the responses CMS received, and the rationale behind why CMS did or did not agree with those responses.
In this webinar, “The Final Rule: Top Takeaways You Need to Know,” happening on Thursday, December 15 at 1 PM ET, we are going to dive into and explain The Final Rule details that matter most to you, including:
What the rules contain and why they are important to your practice
How to translate common CMS abbreviations in the document: RVU, RUC, PE, GPCI
Where to focus your efforts to ensure maximum reimbursement in 2023
How to comment on future rules
