Is it appropriate to use Z47.1 with a Z96.6XX code for a yearly check on the prosthetic joint? Or should we just use the Z96 -presence of artificial joint? No other conditions exist. Thank So!

Yes, you can. Aftercare does not have a defined limit.

The Z47.1 code has a note instructing you to use the additional code from Z96 to identify the joint.
