Baby girl born via vaginal delivery to a G2P2 mom. admitted for 2 days- LGA but unremarkable nursery course.
principal dx: Z38.00 single liveborn
secondary dx were P08.1 heavy for gestational age, Z23 immunization status and Z15.89 genetic suseptibility to other disaese and Z83.49 family hx of endocrine disesae
DRG billed was 794 neonate with other significant problems, and not DRG 795 for normal newborn.
The dx Z15.89 is what contributed to the DRG assignment of 794 versus 795. the sibling has a dx of biotinidase deficiency but there were no results that indicated the baby was positive, just mentioned results were pending.
My question is , are there any specific rules for Z15.89 whenb a sibling is pending results , following up with genetics? I feel that DRG 794 is unwarranted
