our docs read their own xrays even when visiting outside facilities. I am looking at one that says 5 intraoperative fluoroscopic views of left humerus. is there something different about the fluoro?? for some reason I keep thinking I can't bill this.

The documentation would have to support the use. A large C-arm is used to view/diagnose a problem, and may then be used again to make sure of proper alignment/fit or position. I think some of the images would be part of the primary procedure but again, it comes down to the rationale, medical decision making and documentation to support.

Per AAOS/CMS surgical guidelines, all intra-operative imaging is included in major surgery.

(I know exception for post-reduction xrays)
