Reason for visit is post-op on TKA
X ray is done
Does the x-ray report need to state laterality of the knee x-rayed or since the entire visit is centered on the post-op TKA can it state
X-ray taken in office, implants in alignment etc, etc.....

Thanks

Laterality

Yes. Laterality is required on any orthopedic procedure that could occur on either side of the body.

There is a possibility the patient can be seen for an unrelated condition during the post operative period which could result in X-Rays to the non surgical knee. It is our experience that insurance companies won't assume and won't refer to the diagnosis for laterality.
