I could sure use some advice!! One of my providers (a PA-C, FNP), did a wound dressing on a patient who had a bilateral breast reduction and implant replacement surgery out of town, he is not associated with the surgeon who did the procedure. The patient's incisions opened up and she is showing signs of infection. He dressed the wounds (which took a significant amount of time, different layers of dressings and a mesh bra) and is treating the patient until she can get an appointment and make the trip out of town to see her surgeon.
Is there any type of code I can use for the dressings? I know they are typically included in the E/M visit, so this is probably a silly question. But I figured I would see if anyone knows of anything I missing!!
