I have a scar resection that was done on a total knee that was placed a while ago.
My doc used an arthroscopic shaver to resect the lateral scar bands, and the resected the scar and then resected any remaining problematic tissue. there was no impingement, or palpable scar bands after that so he drained the knee and closed the scope portals. Would this be considered 29884 or 29877?..... and would I be looking at using M62.89 as my dx here?

Code 29877 is for "articular cartilage". This is not removal or shaving of chondral tissue. This would be more in line with 29884.
