Patient comes to ED for fracture care is seen/treated by the ortho PA, then comes to the office three days later to see Dr (same PA/DR-ortho office). 1) Can the PA bill for the fx care? 2) If he can't would fx care be billed at the follow up visit with the Dr? 3) Can the PA see workers comp with out his supervising Dr or does Dr need to participate in care/charting? I am in NY and clearly not familiar with workers comp scenario.

Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Tammy

We are in NC and we allow Workers Comp to patients to see the PA ( other than the department of labor - DOL NEEDS to be with DR. always ) but when we send the HCFAs we always put the DR. on the HCFA for all W/C claims. The nurse case managers and adjusters are fine with us doing it this way.
