Our dr. did a surgery and his procedure that he did is
1. Wide decompressive lumbar laminectomy, partial facetectomy, foraminotomies bilaterally L4-L5
2. Bilateral L4-L5 microlumbar diskectomy.
I used codes 63047 and 63030 and only one was paid on. So looking into this you cant code these two together. Is this correct? Even without a modifier? (I do know we need a modifier for the bilaterl).
The only thing I am confused about is in the CPT book it usually tells you what codes you cant use together and it doesnt say anything about these two codes.
I just want to know for my mind that it is correct that these can not be coded together at anytime.
Thank you for your help
