Do I need to add any special modifier to indicate work comp on an anesthesia claim. I work in NC and I have a denied claim from a work comp carrier in CA telling me I need to use an anesthesia code from the CA work comp fee schedule? I've never had this as an issue on any other work comp claim I've filed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You may be using a current code and the work comp in CA uses I think 1996 CPT codes, They may have changed this past year. You need to go to the web and look up CA woek comp for providers and find the fee schedule, it will tell which CPT version to use.
