Can my doctor who is a Cardiologist refer to an Interventionalist within the same group?
The cardiologist would refer to the interventionalist within the same group. I just clarified on what they want to know... Would we be able to bill as a new patient for the interventionalist since they are in the same practice with the same tax ID #?The cardiologist can refer to anyone they want to refer to.
Was there a more specific question?
Thank you so much... So sorry to be so confusingOkay, that is a different question. Can they be a new patient to another provider within the same group with a different specialty. The answer is Yes.
New patient: An individual who did not receive any professional services from the physician/non-physician practitioner (NPP) or another physician of the same specialty who belongs to the same group practice within the previous 3 years.
