I have a pt that was sent to hospital to be admitted for an infected tooth that was causing swelling down into his neck. The pt also had other medical problems that could complicate his condition. He was admitted and had surgery to I&D his neck and remove the tooth on the same day. The oral surgeon did the surgery. The pt then developed other complications. He was being followed by another surgeon in the hospital. How do I code the surgeon that took care of him in the SICU?
