I am in a dilemma, our Ortho saw a patient 4 weeks ago and diagnosised a Hip Strain which was injured 4 weeks earlier. He had a MRI 2 weeks later, it came back Fx of femur. The patient wasn't seen again until 21 days later (from inital visit) making the inital injury date 7 weeks old. Our Ortho now wants to bill fracture care and documentation says "wean off of crutches, weightbearing" Are there any guidelines on charging fracture care late and where are they? Please help! Thanks
