I have not seen this before so I need help. Patient was given the three guaic cards to take home and bring back which they did two weeks later. When the patient brought the guaic cards back, the front office staff took them and then created a billable encounter for the lab on the date that the cards were brought back. In this situation, for the guiaic cards, what would you use for the date of service? The date that they were given the cards? Or the date that they brought the cards back two weeks later? Anyone know?
