Hello,:rolleyes
I am having a little dilemma. I was finally offered a position as a HIM coder at a hospital. This is a career change for me and I have never worked in the medical field. I'm not quite sure what to wear! Any suggestions?

It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed. That said, you could also call the manager or HR department and ask them what the dress code or common attire is before you start so you're not out of place. Good luck with your new job!

I agree, I would dress in dress pants, nice dress shirts or sweaters depending on your temperature where you live of course. Your impression is very important on those who see you, even if you are just working in a cubicle location. You never know who will pop in to visit, or if a physician comes to your area. Best of luck to you.

Chances are that the HIM department already has a written policy on dress code. Check with your new manager.

Congrats on the new job!
