Folks,
For a Voiding Cysto, if anyone here codes them, we bill 51600, as after catheterization of Bladder, the contrast is instilled via gravity drip....are we okay to bill 51600 for this? Also, we do not bill for the scout film, as it is bundled into 74455. Want to see how others are coding this study.
Thanks....Margie
TECHNIQUE:
This exam was performed with low dose, pulsed fluoroscopy and
other dose reduction techniques when possible. Fluoroscopic
time: 1.8 minutes, Dose area product: 2 dGy-cm2
After the bladder was catheterized using sterile precautions,
cystoconray 17% contrast was instilled via gravity drip under
intermittent fluoroscopic observation.

FINDINGS:
On the scout abdominal image, there is a normal bowel gas pattern
without obstruction. There is no organomegaly or abnormal
calcifications. The bony structures are unremarkable. Gastrostomy
tube projects over the stomach.
The bladder was filled to an average expected capacity for age
but the patient did not spontaneously void at that volume. The
bladder continued to fill readily to a volume approximately 150
mL. No intravesical filling defects were seen. The bladder was
normal in shape and contour. There was no vesicoureteral reflux.
As the bladder continued to fill, the patient did void
spontaneously, demonstrating a normal urethra.
Immediate post void fluoroscopic image demonstrates no
significant post void residual or contrast within the ureter or
upper collecting systems.

IMPRESSION

Normal voiding cystourethrogram. No contrast seen extending from
the urinary bladder to the Umbilicus.
