An OB case started as waiting for vaginal delivery, no anesthesis given thus far, then it was decided to proceed with a C Section due to hand presentation, a spinal was given, Duramorph was given for post op pain, but before the incision, the surgeon managed to resolve the hand presentaion through manual manipulation, and shortly afterwards the baby was delivered vaginally.

Question: Can we bill for the Duramorph even though there was no operation, ie, no 'post-op' pain. Would that be an acute pain case?

thanks!
