Several of our stroke patients who do not have any residual effects of TIA to fall under the 438 category are being coded with V12.54, however the AAPC ICD9 manual disqualifies this as a non "PDx" primary diagnosis
What is the appropriate ICD9 to utilize for a f/u visit for a patient with a History of TIA, not acute without any neurological deficits. The patient had experienced transient aphasia but had been resolved therefore not codeable.
