Hi,
I'm curious to know if anyone can clarify this coding question - When is it appropriate to assign a code from category V14 Personal history of allergy to medicinal agents? The I-9 guidelines explain that a person who had an allergic reaction to a substance in the past should ALWAYS be considered allergic to the substance, and the personal history code WOULD NOT apply. How would a person know that s/he had an allergy without a reaction? When is an allergy past history?
I'd really appreciate any assistance anyone could give to clarify this. Thanks very much.
