I am trying to get providers to document results of uti culture before I code uti is this correct under coding guidelines or can I code the infection as soon as the culture returns positive? any help appreciated
I agree with the first response you have from munn. Yes as you said the coding guidelines are pretty specific. For lab/radiology services testing, in the absence of any signs or symptoms or associated dx assign V72.6(lab examination).
