Hello,

I have a physician who is wanting to bill the G0180/G0179 for the ordering of infusion care. We are not administering the infusion care, simply saying the patient needs these services provided for them at their home. They have also made the certification period reach longer than 90 days. Does anyone have any information they can share on whether this is an appropriate use of the G codes?
 
The situation you are describing does not sound like a legitimate reason to bill these codes (at least with just the information you've provided).

These codes are for a patient who is receiving Home Health Services from a Home Health Agency, where the provider has ordered the services and then "certifies" the Home Health Agency's plan of care and treatment.

There are also many requirements to be able to bill these codes.
