What type of documentation in the note are you looking for when you use the F17.2- Nicotine dependence? For example, is it enough for the provider to state "tobacco abuse" or "tobacco use" and describe a multi-year smoking history and current smoking, even recommend cessation? Or does the term "dependence" need to be used?
