Hello- I made this for my team, I leave this coding for the docs. but this may help.

Urodynamics Common Coding Scenarios
Urodynamics Testing with Urethral Pressure Profile AND Urine Voiding Pressure Studies
51729 | Complex CMG w/ UPP/VLPP studies and Voiding Pressure studies |
51741-‐51 | Uroflowmetry |
51784-‐51 | Electromyography (EMG) Anal/Urinary Muscle Study |
51797* | Intra-‐Abdominal Pressure Test |
Urodynamics Testing with Urine Voiding Pressure Studies (No UPP)
51728 | Complex Cystometrogram (CMG) w/ Voiding Pressure studies, any technique |
51741-‐51 | Uroflowmetry |
51784-‐51 | Electromyography (EMG) Anal/Urinary Muscle Study |
51797* | Intra-‐Abdominal Pressure Test |
Coding Insight
Report the CPT code with the highest RVU first. In most cases, this will be either 51729, 51728, 51727, or 51726.
Code 51797 is an add-on code. Therefore, it can only be billed in conjunction with either 51728 or 51729 and does not require the -51 modifier.
All other codes are reported with the -51-modifier appended, to designate additional procedures. Typically, this would be attached to a complex uroflowmetry study done at the same time e.g. 51741-51.
If video-urodynamics are performed, code in addition to the above CPT codes: 51600-51 for the instillation of intravesical contrast, 74455 for the VCU radiological studies, and if the patient is unable to void during the study, code CPT 74430, cystogram, three views, instead of 74455.
