evaluation and management at an ASC
One of my gastro docs was at an ASC to perform a procedure. When they hooked the patient up to the cardiac monitor, he was in heart block. My doctor spent quite a bit of time evaluating him and naking arrangements for him to be transpoted to an ER. Our group did not admit, just evaluated the patient and sent them to the ER for evaluation. No IV or anesthesia had been started.
If we bill and E/M charge with place of service ASC, will we get paid? I've never had this happen before and wanted to see if anyone else has.
Thanks,
Michele
