Does anyone know if there is a rule out there (preferably if you have it in a link or in writing somewhere) on how long providers can take to dictate on an office visit before it is no longer billable? For example, if a provider saw a patient 2 months ago & hasn't dictated yet...if they finally dictate, are we able to bill for it?

You can bill up to the time limit imposed by the insurance carrier for submitting an original claim. Most allow up to 365 days, but some have a 90 day limit.
