Can someone please tell me what the duration of these services are per unit (1 unit)
97032
97535
G0283
97012

For example: if the duration of G0283 per unit is 8 min and if we do this service for 15 min, then we can bill 2 units of G0283.

Please breakdown or describe in units. Thank you

G0283 is not a timed code and has a MUE edit of 1 unit per DOS, so the time spent on this modality is irrelevant. Additionally, 97012 is not a timed code and has an MUE edit of 1 unit per DOS, so again the time spent on this modality is relevant to coding this service.

97032 & 97535 are timed codes bill in increments of 15 minutes. It is important to note that "According to CMS guidelines, at least eight minutes of direct contact with the patient must be provided for a single unit of service to be appropriately reported." So, there must be a minimum of 8 minutes of direct contact performing either of these modalities in order to bill 1 unit of service. If you exceed the 15 minutes for the 1st unit at least an additional 8 minutes must be provided for the 2nd unit, so 23 minutes (15 +8=23) to bill 2 units.
