Many times our hospitals will send the different insurance plans over as standard UHC or standard Cigna, their parent plan. Then the claim sits a long time because it never really made it to the correct payer. I am hoping to use some rules in our billing system to identify each plan based off unique characters. For example, the prefix or group ID.
Does anyone know if these UHC plans have any unique identifiers or prefixes? I dont have a list of all the Cigna plans, but the same questions apply.
