I am desperately searching for an answer to my question, which is:

Does a Lower Extremity Arterial Duplex (93925) include an ABI (93923). It is my understanding according to Medicare and the LCD, that it does not include an ABI and if there is an abnormal finding on the ABI then you can bill for both studies in the same day. We are being told to charge for a lower extremity arterial duplex because it includes the ABI and to not bill for both. I agree that you can't bill for both in the same day becasue of CCI edits, unless like I said there is an abnormal finding on the ABI which is to be done first and then if abnormal a lower extremity arterial duplex can be performed and billed on the same day as the ABI.

If anyone has an answer to this and possibly somewhere where I can reference something in black & white as well would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Cyndi for confirming what I already knew and providing me with something in black & white to support my argument. It is greatly appreciated.
