What would you compare this procedure too??
The splenocolic ligament was slightly taken down to facilitate visualization of the cyst. The cyst was opened using electrocautery and clear fluid returned which was aspirated. The lateral cyst wall was then excised using an EnSeal device. This really opened up the cyst. The wall was sent off for pathology. The raw surface of the cyst was cauterized using electrocautery. It was hemostatic even after dropping the pneumoperitoneum to 8 mmHg. I did place a piece of Surgicel snow within the cyst cavity. The trocar was were removed and the pneumoperitoneum was released.
