We are seeing more and more initial hospital telemed visits being denied by UHC. Stating there is a coding issue. Is anyone experiencing this? It started this year for us, in the past we have received payment.
You might want to try billing it with POS 10, as it is payable according to UHC’s 2025 Telehealth Policy. Based on the policy documents (which I’ve attached), UHC requires the use of modifier GT for certain states. Since I’m not sure which state you’re billing from, I recommend reviewing the state-specific guidance in the attached documents to confirm the correct usage for your location.
